     In Indonesia many plants that can be used as medicine include moringa leaves. Moringa leaf plants are widely planted in the yard or yard of the house, usually used for vegetables. In Indonesia there are also moringa leaves in extract.  

        Moringa leaves are also used as a medicinal ingredient because of their abundant health benefits. Some of the benefits of moringa leaves are obtained from the antifungal, antiviral, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory properties contained in it. Almost all parts of moringa plants can be used as traditional medicine, but the leaves and pods are the most widely used parts. 

 Benefits of Moringa Leaves

 

 1. Fight free radicals
Moringa leaves contain antioxidant compounds that work against free radicals in the body. High levels of free radicals can cause oxidative stress associated with a variety of chronic diseases, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
Antioxidant compounds found in moringa leaves are vitamin C, beta-carotene, quercetin, and chlorogenic acid.

 2. Lowering blood sugar levels High blood sugar can be a cause of serious health problems, one of which is diabetes. Some studies show, moringa leaves can lower blood sugar levels. A study involving 30 women showed that consuming 1.5 teaspoons of moringa leaf powder can reduce blood sugar levels by up to 13.5 percent.
Scientists believe the benefits of moringa leaves to lower blood sugar levels are caused by plant compounds such as isothiocyanate.

 3. Reducing inflammation Inflammation is the body's natural response to infection or injury. It is a protective mechanism of the body but can be a health problem. Scientists believe that the compound isothiocyanate in moringa leaves is an anti-inflammatory compound that is able to reduce inflammation.

4. Lowering high cholesterol kelosterol is associated with various risks of disease, one of which is heart disease.

 5. Protecting against arsenic poisoning Arsenic contamination of food and beverages is a widely found health problem. Long-term arsenic exposure can increase the risk of heart disease and cancer. Some studies in rats show that moringa seeds may protect against some of the effects of arsenic toxicity.
